God's Sense of Humor

Many people around us have a sparkling sense of humor. A God-honoring sense of humor helps you to stay grounded in a world that often seems to be off balance. D. F. Malherbe, a South African writer and linguist, calls humor " a laugh with a cry". Humor is able to see the absurdity in life and keeps a person humble. Often cartoonists reflect the ridiculous things that politicians say or do and that helps to reveal their human weaknesses and foibles.
God also has a sense of humor: why else would He have made the giraffe, the toad or even people? God can laugh. He sees the plans of the people hungry for power and avaricious people and He has the ability to do what is necessary to stop their evil plans. He empowers the weak and brings the arrogant to their knees. He waters the seed of self-destruction that the over-ambitious often plant when they lay their evil plans.
That is why you do not need to be afraid that the world will completely topple or fall into chaos. The Lord mocks those who plan to usurp Him. He scoffs at the empty arguments of those who claim He does not exist. The evildoers are caught in their own traps and God mocks them.
On Easter Sunday when God raised Christ from the dead, perhaps there was a hint of a smile because of the reaction that it caused among those who had crucified Him. In the end all secrets will be revealed and hidden agendas will be exposed. The enemies of God will be revealed for what they really are. the truth will shine like the rays of the sun. Love will take its rightful place and peace will triumph.

I have no doubt at all that He laughs ,as a gentle Father looking at His children-I wonder though-does He ever cry?
I am with you on this, and with itakins, God does have a sense of humor.
Although I can picture God as crying as well. Any parent does when they see their child not living up to his/her potential or going wayward.
4x4 I think His tears are of joy, not sadness like ours cause in heaven there is no sorrow
We were made in God's image and likeness and I believe one of the likeness is having a sense of humor. From who else can we get our affinity for laughter? As the Word says Rejoice in the Lord always!
As the Word says "Rejoice in the Lord always!...again I say rejoice." Chin chin, my sister in the Lord.
Where can we go from His presence. Nothing can separate me from His never ending love.
